Monmouth Park Concert Willamette Valley Concert Band and Reconstituted Monmouth-Independence Band, July 3, 2007
The Willamette Valley Concert Band is a community ensemble formed in the spring of 1970 by a group of Albany musicians. Their first performance was for the Albany Spring Music Festival. The group's purpose was to further the cultural environment of the community; to provide entertainment for the general public at concerts and other performances; and to offer the members an opportunity for personal self-expression through the medium of music. This purpose is still maintained thirty-six years later.
The membership includes about fifty-five area musicians ranging from teenagers to seniors with diverse occupations. About nine concerts are performed each year.

Cabaret & Broadway Revue. A wildly entertaining variety show featuring hits from Broadway musicals and a few very pleasant surprises. Founding Member and Director Brad Townsend from OSU has put together some of the finest singers and musicians in the area. Local cabaret sensation Puttin' on the Bitz wows audiences with their mix of Broadway, comedy and standards. Don't miss this vocally- and theatrically-charged troupe made up of local community theater performers!" Six talented performers presenting the show as a night at a cabaret with a full set and band (bass, drums, piano, keyboard, and a horn section . The idea is that for the most part we will all be on stage all the time and become part of the cabaret 'scene' when we're not actually performing. We have a lot of comedy 'bits' thrown into the mix, and a very wide range of music - everything from Gershwin to Tom Lehrer, to a short set from 'Wicked'.
