News Talk 1580 KGAL, Unforgettable 920 KSHO and www.kgal.com are looking for a Radio News Journalist.


We need someone to head the news department at locally managed and owned, Eads Broadcasting, where we provide over 17 hours a week of live local news, over 3 hours of scheduled timely newscasts, and 5 hours of locally produced talk.

Our news and local talk emphasis is on local news for the Albany/ Lebanon/ Corvallis area which is located between the Portland/ Salem and Eugene Radio Markets.

Our stations are a News/Talk/Sports Format (KGAL) and Adult Standards (KSHO) plus the locally high traffic www.kgal.com.

To understand and live the format, like our listeners do, is a big plus. Our target demographics are 25-64 KGAL and 35+ KSHO.

This is a full time position plus you will work with our news team of three other broadcast professionals (they split duties as OM/ Talk Show Host, PD and Sports Director/ Morning Drive/ Talk Show Host).

We are not a "rip and read" operation. Gathering, researching, writing/ digitally editing, confirming details, editing and delivery to audience the new content in a concise manner, in live, prerecorded, and written (web) forms are part of your responsibilities.
This position also includes contact at public events and meeting and the one on one meeting with newsmakers in the course of day-to-day news gathering operations.

We recently updated our local network and digital delivery and automation to Control Ready / WireReady utilizing Windows 7 Operating Systems. Job requirements include haveing a good understanding of digital editing (Cool Edit Pro a plus) and Windows Word.

In addition, understanding and usage of Control Ready, WireReady, social media (Facebook), web browsers and resources and delivering product in web format a plus.

Understanding of marketing utilizing digital media such as web sites, social networking, video a plus. We also have a locally high traffic web site with www.kgal.com.

In the past 24 months we have added three successful broadcast and advertising professions to our marketing staff, could you be next?

We're looking for Sharp, talented candidates with previous sales experience. Great customer service and a DRIVER personality is highly preferred. Internet, Outlook, MSWord experience helpful. Web experience and understanding helpful.
