Summer 2005 Lineup
Presented by Albany Parks and Recreation
All River Rhythms Concerts are held on Thursday nights. Mondays at Monteith Concerts are designated Monday. All begin at 7:00 p.m. in Monteith RiverPark, 489 Water NW along the Willamette River in Historic Downtown Albany Oregon. The concerts are free. A variety of good food is available at the park each week. In addition there are numerous dining options in downtown Albany from sandwiches to first-class dinners. There will be an opportunity each week to make a free-will donation to help keep the concert series going. This series of concerts offers a variety of good live music without huge crowds or parking hassles. Many groups will offer tapes and CD's for purchase at the concert.  Sugarland is hitting the country charts with their new single, "Baby Girl". Sugarland was recently featured in USA Today's "On The Verge." Sugarland is now regularly appearing on your TV. Tune in to CMT and GAC to see their brand new video, "Baby Girl."

Thursday, July 21: Starship featuring Mickey Thomas-(Classic Rock)
 Starship had many hits in the 70's and 80's like "We built this city" and "Sara" [Web Site]. This show is will be held at the Linn County Fairgrounds on the Opening Day of the Linn County Fair.

Thursday, Aug. 18: Riders in the Sky- (Western)

Ranger Doug, Woody Paul, Too Slim and Joey the Cow Polka King have been entertaining audiences for over 26 years. Sometime when the April showers are looming, Riders will reach another milestone performance: show #5000. America's Favorite Cowboys delivered their 4000th performance on Friday, September 10th, 1999 in Puyallup, Washington. [Web Site]

Monday, July 11 - The Linn-Benton Concert Band

Under the direction of Dr. Richard Sorenson, this 50 piece community band will play everything from rousing marches to Broadway musicals to classical masterpieces. Band music is made to order for a concert in the park and this is sure to be a stimulating beginning to the Monday concert season.
Monday, July 18 - Corvallis Community Band - Another great band! Under the direction of Steve Matthes, this fine band has entertained the Corvallis area for almost 30 years. The member musicians include retired band directors, OSU faculty and other top musicians from the Corvallis area. Gale Hazel and Paul Pritchard will sing Porgy and Bess and West Albany High School graduate Lisa Taylor will play the Carnival of Venice.....a real showpiece!
Monday, July 25- Men of Worth - Irish & Scottish Folk Music Duo of Donnie Macdonald from Scotland and James Keigher from Ireland. Together, "Men of Worth" blend their voices with harmony and support their collections of songs and melodies with their varied selection of instruments. Men of Worth are international performers who have successfully toured for two decades and have recorded 8 albums.
Monday, August 1 - Artists Of The Portland Opera- Returning by popular demand, this group of several of the finest performers from the Portland Opera will feature highlights from this and past seasons as well as show tunes and other exciting music.
Monday, August 8- Oregon State University (OSU) Jazz Ensemble- Under the direction of Erik Nelson, plenty of standards, music of Stan Kenton and Pat Metheny plus some great originals. Exciting and creative solo work and driving ensemble play! 19 piece group...not to be missed!
Monday, August 15 Corvallis Youth Symphony

Under the direction of Charles Creighton, this is a symphony orchestra that plays up to the standard of a professional adult group. You will join their huge fan base after you've heard this group of over 70 of this area's most talented young people.
